Some sample strategic plans:
Strategic Plan: Humanities faculty (Brenda from The Black Academic's Guide to Winning Tenure Without Losing Your Soul), identifying tenure-track goals and the tasks necessary to accomplish them.
Research Plan: Social Science faculty in her 4th year on the tenure track. Her plan focuses on outlining a timeline for her 2nd major project.
Research Plan: First-year faculty member in a professional school. His school mandates a one-page plan for the first three years that serves as a broad outline of research and funding goals. The planning document serves as a starting point for discussion with his appointed department mentor.
